In the process of drilling PDC bit into the volcanic rock stratum, the technical performance is often not fully exerted. For the volcanic rock core data, the PDC bit is designed and improved from the aspects of composite sheet, cutting tooth force, tooth shape and cutting tooth angle. The study analyzed the effects of cross-sectional shape, cloth teeth, working angle of cutting teeth on the performance of PDC bits. A design viewpoint aimed at enhancing the hearing, wear resistance and drilling speed of the drill bit was proposed. The new type of drill developed has a parabolic profile, medium density cloth teeth, and the backlash angle of the cutting teeth varies from 10° to 15°. The results show that compared to roller cone bits, the PDC bit has increased drilling speed by approximately 20% and the drilling cost per meter has been reduced by 27%.Author:
